Background

Darion Fenn was born of Erik Fenn, a brother of Lord Fenn of Strongwood Keep. Darion lived his life contently as a child, always playing with his sister, Marsha Fenn. He was always curious, running around the castle exploring and engrossed in his studies. His favorite studies were of historical figures, mainly the old heros of the Dawn of Heros. He seemed to take these stories to heart, as he began to show an aptitude towards his military training as well, especially with sword and shield.

When Darion was 8, him and Marsha were sent to Castle Hornwood to be wards for house Hornwood. Him and his sister were happy there too, who found other's the same age to play with. Though Darion was popular and friendly, the only person he was truly close to was his sister. As the years went on, Darion grew up and began working towards his goal of being a squire to a famous knight. During this time, he became closer friends to Erika Hornwood, the second-born daughter of house Hornwood. This quickly blossomed into a secret romance, that they both enjoyed, both from each other's company and the allure of secrecy.

But when Darion was 13, everything changed. One day Erika Hornwood was found beaten nearly to death in her room. When asked who did this to her, she immediately named Darion. Suddenly he found that everyone he thought were his friends turned on him. Lord Harys Hornwood demanded for Darion's beheading, and Darion was forced to flee back to Strongwood Keep, though his sister was not so lucky. When Darion made it back to the keep though, he was not greeted the way he expected. Everyone at Strongwood Keep, even his father immediately tried to turn him back over to house Hornwood. With nowhere left to turn, Darion fled the North, heading south through the deep wilderness.

For months Darion wandered the wilderness, hunting and foraging to survive. Once he began reaching civilization, in order to make money he started to sell his sword with mercenary work. He continued to make his way south until he came to the door of House Stahlhardt. With his reputation as a fierce fighter proceeding him, Darion was allowed to join the Stahlhardts as a sworn sword. After years of service, Darion eventually made his way up to the position of Master at Arms, where he currently serves.

The monthes of living had taken a toll on Darion emotionally as well as physically. While friendly and polite, Darion is not a man of many words. He prefers the company of himself, and the friends he has are not close. Though he has severed all ties between him and the North, Darion's only goals are to return there to find his sister and bring her back to Summitstone to live with him, and discover what truly happened on the fateful day at Hornwood.

Events at King's Landing
Darion's time during the Hand's Tourney was a mostly uneventful one. His first day was spent at the jousting, watching Ricther II compete. He competed in the melee on the second day, and while he did well, was eventually beaten by Everard Storm of House Vittarion. Darion was in the people's procession on the way back from the feasting, and missed the Dornish attack on the Lannisters. The next day, Darion, Runa and Ricther were tasked to go out and round up Dornishmen to bring in for questioning. Though they all searched all day, Darion was the only one to find someone, though he had some misgivings about the unwarranted arrest. After the questioning and sentancing of the main Dornish conspirators, Darion was found by Lord Harys Hornwood, who began accusing him of the alleged crimes he committed when he was a ward of their house. Though Richter managed to get Harys to leave, Darion enlisted Master Gaewin to find where the Hornwood were staying. On the day of the Dornish executions, Darion waited for the Hornwood's at the Flying Inn. When they return, they met with Darion, demanding they tell him what happened to his sister. Instead of answering, Harys ordered his men to attack. Darion fought them, killing and wounding quite a few, but in the end they overpowered him and took him hostage. Using favors gotten from Tywin Lannister, Richter managed to free him, but not before he had been beaten nearly to death.

Epilogue
After the events at King's Landing, Darion returned to Summitstone with the rest of the Stahlhardt family. Although nothing much changed in his relationships with everyone around him, things had changed dramatically for him. His encounter with Lord Harys Hornwood had given him nothing to help him find his sister, and he finally understood that he would never find her. With this change of mindset, Darion was no longer content to just spend his days in Summitstone Keep. After a couple years of rest and recovery, he thanked the Stahlharts for allowing his service, and left to make his own way in the world. He began to sell his sword again, as he traveled around Westeros looking for a place he could be content. Instead of his wandering being necessary because of pursuers, he came and went as he pleased. Throughout the years he was witness to many acts of strength and bravery as war broke out across Westeros. But none of this fame found Darion, who was content to just do his work in the background. As he grew old, he found a quiet inn to purchase and spend the rest of his days. If asked, Darion would say that his life had been good and with no regrets. Even though he never did find his sister, he still kept her bracelet around his neck at all times.

Player Postmortem
At first my character started off with very little personality, partially because of the stats I created and partially from the backstory I was building, having him away from civilization for so long. But as the events unfolded in King's Landing, I began to get a better feel for what Darion was like. The turning point was when he was bringing in the Dornish man. The parallels with Darion's own backstory made me realize he should try to be helping the Dornish who were falsely accused. Although the Hornwoods unexpectedly came back, I feel that Darion progressed enough as a character to have been able to continue without the Hornwoods.
